We offer courses at levels from A1.1. to C1, both in stationary and online mode. A course at a given level, in a given mode, will be opened for min. 4 participants. Most courses are stationary, held in the University of Gdańsk, 51 or 55 Wita Stwosza str.

To enroll in a course, fill in the registration form available below and send it by email to polskidlacudzoziemcow@ug.edu.pl. You do not need to print it nor sign it.

If you live abroad and are a citizen of a country without a visa-free travel agreement with Poland, you need a visa to enroll in a stationary course. Poland does not grant student visas on the basis of admission to general-purpose language courses that we offer. We charge for a whole course in advance. In case of semester and one-year courses, monthly installments are accepted.

We do not provide accommodation.

Those who need a VAT invoice are asked to order it at frug@ug.edu.pl before making a payment for the course. It will not be possible to issue an invoice at a later date. The invoice is only useful for settling business costs.

Zgodnie z ogólnym rozporządzeniem o ochronie danych z dnia 27 kwietnia 2016 r., zwanym dalej RODO, informujemy, iż:

Administratorem Państwa danych osobowych jest Uniwersytet Gdański z siedzibą w Gdańsku (80-309) przy ul. Jana Bażyńskiego 8, reprezentowany przez Rektora.

Uniwersytet Gdański będzie przetwarzał dane osobowe podane w formularzu kontaktowym lub rejestracyjnym lub poprzez pocztę elektroniczną lub osobiście (imię, nazwisko, płeć, data urodzenia, obywatelstwo, numer dokumentu tożsamości, adres korespondencyjny, adres email, numer telefonu).
Państwa dane osobowe przetwarzane będą w celach związanych z obsługą i obiegiem korespondencji (w szczególności z udzielaniem odpowiedzi na kierowaną do Centrum korespondencję, podejmowaniem kontaktu z adresatami, rejestracją na kursy, sporządzaniem umów, a także dokumentowaniem ustaleń poczynionych podczas prowadzonej korespondencji).
Podstawą prawną do przetwarzania Państwa danych osobowych jest art. 6 Rozporządzenia RODO, w szczególności ust. 1 pkt.: a) osoba, której dane dotyczą wyraziła zgodę na przetwarzanie swoich danych osobowych, b) przetwarzanie danych jest niezbędne do wykonania umowy, której stroną jest osoba, której dane dotyczą, lub do podjęcia działań na żądanie osoby, której dane dotyczą, przed zawarciem umowy, c) przetwarzanie danych jest niezbędne do celów wynikających z prawnie uzasadnionych interesów realizowanych przez Administratora.
Państwa dane osobowe będą przetwarzane w imieniu administratora danych przez upoważnionych pracowników wyłącznie w celach, o których mowa w ust. 4.
Państwa dane osobowe będą przechowywane do czasu wypełnienia prawnie uzasadnionych interesów Administratora stanowiących podstawę tego przetwarzania – a w przypadkach, w których wymagają tego przepisy wynikające z ustawy o narodowym zasobie archiwalnym i archiwach przez okres określony w tych przepisach.
Dane osobowe mogą być udostępniane innym podmiotom, jeżeli obowiązek taki będzie wynikał z przepisów prawa powszechnie obowiązującego. W przypadku korespondencji prowadzonej za pośrednictwem poczty tradycyjnej lub elektronicznej, odbiorcą Państwa danych może być podmiot działający na zlecenie Administratora, tj. podmiot będący operatorem usługi pocztowej.
Na zasadach określonych przepisami RODO przysługuje Państwu:
1. prawo dostępu do treści swoich danych,
2. prawo do ich sprostowania, gdy są niezgodne ze stanem rzeczywistym,
3. prawo do ich usunięcia, ograniczenia przetwarzania, a także przenoszenia danych – w przypadkach przewidzianych prawem,
4. prawo do wniesienia sprzeciwu wobec przetwarzania danych,
5. prawo do wniesienia skargi do organu nadzorczego – Prezesa Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, gdy uznają Państwo, że przetwarzanie danych osobowych narusza przepisy o ochronie danych osobowych.
6. jeżeli przetwarzanie odbywa się na podstawie zgody – do cofnięcia zgody w dowolnym momencie bez wpływu na zgodność z prawem przetwarzania, którego dokonano na podstawie zgody przed jej cofnięciem.

INTENSIVE ONE-YEAR COURSE IN POLISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

Charakterystyka kursu:	The course is addressed to those who start learning Polish language and culture from scratch or continue at the appropriate level (A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) and want to learn intensively on every working day. The course participants: develop linguistic communicative competences in different spheres of life – private, educational, professional, develop the ability to apply linguistic knowledge (grammar, vocabulary, spelling) to communicative activities, acquire the ability to choose the appropriate course of action to maximise the effectiveness of their language communication, acquire specific knowledge about Poland and Polish culture. The course ends with an examination confirming the student’s knowledge of Polish at a given level. Participants receive a certificate of completion of the course. On completion of the course, the student will be able to understand written texts and oral statements, communicate in everyday situations, hold conversations and participate in discussions.
Form of the course:	Main form: stationary. Online course will be opened for min. 4 persons. We cannot guarantee a place in a student dormitory.

INTENSIVE SEMESTER COURSE OF POLISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

SEMESTER COURSE OF POLISH LANGUAGE

Course characteristics:	Basic Polish language course for people who need the knowledge of the language for personal or professional reasons. The course plan includes 60 hours of general instruction, developing all skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking, writing). The course participants: develop linguistic communicative competences in different spheres of life – private, educational, professional, develop the ability to apply linguistic knowledge (grammar, vocabulary, spelling) to communicative activities, acquire the ability to choose the appropriate course of action to maximise the effectiveness of their language communication, acquire specific knowledge about Poland and Polish culture. Classes are conducted by appropriately prepared teachers in groups at various levels. Adapting the course programme to the needs of learners and using adequate teaching methods make it easier for beginners to quickly master the basics of the Polish language. We speak Polish from the very first class. People at higher levels of Polish language proficiency develop their knowledge of spoken and written Polish depending on individual needs.

PREPARATORY COURSES FOR THE CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION IN POLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Course characteristics:	The course is intended for participants of certificate exams of Polish language. Classes are taught by well-prepared teachers with extensive experience of working for examination boards in groups at various levels of advancement (B1, B2, C1, C2). Among our instructors there are also authors of tasks which appear in examination sheets. During the course, we practice all the skills required for the certificate exam: listening, reading, writing and speaking. We put special emphasis on consolidating the knowledge of grammatical correctness. Classes are conducted in small groups so that all students are treated individually. The small number of participants also contributes to a pleasant atmosphere, which is especially important for shy and insecure students. Participants in the exam preparation course have the opportunity to thoroughly review all relevant information. Importantly, they also receive a lot of other relevant information, e.g. about the examination process, types of examination tasks or the most common mistakes made by the test takers.

Course characteristics:	Holiday course of Polish language in Tri-City (Gdańsk-Sopot-Gdynia) gives the opportunity to combine language study with rest at the seaside, learning about history and culture of Gdańsk and its environs. We give lessons on all levels, from survival Polish for beginners up to advanced levels, teaching communication skills, grammar, vocabulary, understanding and creating written statements. Classes are held in the building of University of Gdańsk and outside. Our lectors are experienced academic teachers who give lessons of Polish for foreigners at the University on a daily basis. The program of the course includes: lessons of Polish, excursions and walks on the area of the city, exploration of the Tri-City attractions (historic sites, museums, art galleries, theatres, beaches), lectures on Polish culture and history delivered by University’s professors, in Polish or English, showing of the classic and contemporary Polish films, with discussion, in Polish or English, Group size: min. 4, max. 10 participants

Charakterystyka kursu:	Polish history and culture (in Polish and in English) Polish art (in Polish and in English) Polish literature (in Polish and in English) Polish film (in Polish and in English) Clients can choose from courses on various aspects of Polish cultural life: Polish history and culture, art, literature or film. Classes will be taught by specialists in a given field. Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of the most important issues and events in Polish culture and history, learn about the achievements of Polish artists – both those belonging to the canon and those of the present day. The course participants will become acquainted with the history, culture and art of Gdańsk and Pomerania. The course will also focus on the relationship between Polish culture and European and world culture. Practical exercises (e.g. translation or transformation of texts, analysis and interpretation of works) will be an important element of the classes. The course may be conducted in Polish and/or English. Classes will be adapted to the language level of the students. Polish history and culture The programme of the course includes, e.g.: the geopolitical location of Poland, the most important events in the history of Poland, the religiousness of Poles, everyday life in Poland, Polish multiculturalism, national and religious holidays, customs, Polish folklore, the culture of Gdańsk and Pomerania, the most important monuments of culture and national heritage, the most outstanding artists of Polish culture (past and present). Polish art The programme of the course includes: Polish folklore (costumes, dances, songs, customs), medieval art, modern art, most important achievements of Polish art (painting, sculpture, visual arts), most outstanding Polish artists, artists from Gdańsk, Gdańsk monuments, Gdańsk museums and art galleries, interpretation of a work of art. Polish literature The programme of the course includes, e.g.: an outline of the history of Polish literature, the canon of Polish literature, paraliterary genres – the Polish School of Reportage, the interpretation of a literary work, updating works of Polish literature, the art of translating a literary work, the most outstanding Polish authors, Gdańsk writers, contemporary literary life in Poland, Polish literary awards and festivals. Polish film The programme of the course includes: the beginnings of Polish cinematography, the canon of Polish film, the main trends in Polish cinematography, Polish documentary cinema, Polish animated film, the most outstanding Polish filmmakers, Gdańsk film artists, the Gdynia Film School and its creators, Polish prizes and film festivals, analysis and interpretation of a film work.

Charakterystyka kursu:	Polish medical language Polish language in business Polish language in tourism Clients can choose a course in one of three fields: medicine, business, tourism. The courses will mainly focus on lexis and phraseology, as well as practising the ability to read texts and create forms of expression typical for a given professional group. An important element of the courses is also training in so-called soft skills, including cultural and interpersonal ones, which have an impact on efficient communication in professional situations. Polish medical language The course programme includes: body parts, systems, internal organs, diseases and symptoms, medicines and medical products, people connected with the medical environment, places connected with the medical environment, doctor-patient relationship, documents, communicative situations, developing the ability to apply linguistic knowledge (grammar, vocabulary, spelling) in communication activities. Polish language in business The programme of the course includes: basic specialist vocabulary of a given business area, learning to conduct business talks, negotiation techniques, documents, elements of legal language, diplomatic etiquette, communication situations in the workplace, understanding and creating written texts, official correspondence, developing the ability to apply linguistic knowledge (grammar, vocabulary, spelling) in communication activities. Polish language in tourism The course programme includes: basic specialist vocabulary on a given field of tourism, vocabulary on tourist geography of Poland and the world, terminology in the field of tourist infrastructure, communication situations in the workplace, planning and executing tourist services, servicing clients using tourist services, documents, understanding and creating written texts, using Polish-language sources of information, developing the ability to apply linguistic knowledge (grammar, vocabulary, spelling) in communication activities.
