The Academic Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners implements the LOSt in Gdańsk! project, organized as part of the SPINAKER programme. Participation in the project allowed interesting guests from foreign universities to be invited to Gdańsk.

In May, our university was visited by Professor Kōji Morita, an academic teacher and head of the Polish Language Department at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Prof. Morita held a meeting with students and employees of the University of Gdańsk, discussed the reception of Czesław Miłosz’s works in Japan and presented the poems of the Polish Nobel Prize winner in his own translation into Japanese.

In June, Gdańsk was visited by Doctor Yuliiia Vaseiko, associate professor at the Department of Polish Philology and Translation at the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University in Lutsk. Dr. Vaseiko met with students of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Gdańsk, for whom she conducted classes, she also gave a lecture as part of the “GlottoTalk” series. Our guest took part in a discussion on language transfer in teaching Polish as a foreign language.

This program is organized by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and financed by the European Social Fund under the Knowledge Education Development Operational Program (non-competition project entitled “Supporting the institutional capacity of Polish universities through the creation and implementation of international study programs”, Priority Axis III “Higher education for the economy and development”, Measure 3.3. “Internationalization of Polish higher education”).
